I just wanted to give a little love to one of my favorite places in CO. You may be saying to your self "Alamosa, really?" But seriously it is. Maybe not for the town itself, although it does boast a great coffee house, Milagros, and some pretty decent Mexican food, but for the people. Its one of the poorest counties in the country, but the wealth of generosity its people possess far out ways the its economic short falls. Which is why I was concerned when I heard about the salmonella problem in the water system, which was apparently caused by animal droppings? Whatever the cause its just another example of the infrastructural problems communities all around the country are facing. I mean loosing water in an already pretty extreme climate like Alamosa is serious. A large portion of that community can't afford to buy bottled water, which is now the only option, at least for the next few weeks. It's just unfortunate that an already struggling community has yet another hurdle to jump over. My heart goes out to them.
